Our risen Savior remained with His disciples for 40 days following His resurrection. Then, prior to His ascension He gave His mission mandate that the world might not perish.
That the world might not perish: that's why the Father sent the Son. When we think of our guilt, aren't we relieved that God didn't destroy the world because of sin? But are people in other nations, speaking other languages, also relieved?
