| "Peace be with you. Just as my Father has sent Me, so I also am sending you." John 20: 21 Missio is a Latin word that means "I send." Just as Jesus sent His disciples out into the world, so He sends us to carry the message of salvation through Jesus Christ to the very ends of the earth. To keep local congregations informed and active in missions, LHF provides information, resources and speakers. Churches are also presented with opportunities to become directly involved with LHF mission projects. MISSIO Advocates serve as direct links between congregations and LHF. They keep their churches informed about LHF activities and encourage them to become more involved in supporting missions and, more specifically, the work of LHF. A MISSIO Advocate has access to: - Newsletters
- Bulletin Inserts
- Brochures
- Videos
- Displays for bulletin boards
- LHF Mission Speakers and
- Special updates
If you're interested in helping to educate your congregation about the LHF mission, please call the LHF office at (800)554-0723, or send an e-mail to Ken Precht, LHF's MISSIO Advocate Coordinator.
| Ken Precht served as a Lutheran elementary school teacher and principal for more than 40 years. Now retired (but still active in serving the Lord!), he coordinates LHF's MISSIO Advocate program.
Ken maintains contact with congregational advocates, sends materials to them, arranges for LHF speakers to visit advocate churches and advises advocates on ways to involve their congregations in outreach and mission. He may also contact advocates to gather information that will help LHF better serve the local congregations. Ken is the author of "MISSIO Mites," a bi-monthly newsletter sent to all advocates.
