Search tips

Simply type a few words describing what you are looking for in the entry box.
Then click the Search button. You can also search for combined terms (exact phrases)
by surrounding words in quotes.  See examples.

Entering this search text... Locates all pages containing...
"Martin Luther" "Martin Luther" but not "Luther, Martin"
martin luther "Martin", "Luther", "Martin Luther", "Luther, Martin"
luther lutheran either "Luther", "Lutheran" or both words

Capitalization doesn't matter. The ranked results will come from a total match on the words and phrases which you supply, so try to think of several specific terms for your topic and spell them correctly.

The search locates whole words, so you cannot perform a partial word search.
For example, searching on the word "concord" will not locate any pages containing "concordance"

It's good to include important plurals and derived words too, as in the last example.

There is no need to include "and" between terms. Keep in mind that the order in which the terms are typed will affect the search results. To restrict a search further, just include more terms.
