the LHF match: the match that doubles your gift to the lhf mission

Thanks be to God: The 2017 matching goal has been achieved!  We hope to share news of another matching program in January 2018.

A generous LHF supporter has renewed the “LHF Match,” matching your gift dollar-for-dollar to help translate and publish books about Jesus Christ for churches around the world.

Any individual or church/organization who is new to supporting the LHF mission or who hasn’t sent a gift in the past 12 months or more is eligible for the match. Gifts up to $5,000 will be matched (grants and bequests are not eligible) until Nov. 30, 2017 or until the limit of $190,000 has been reached.

Click here to give online, or mail your mission offerings to LHF at 51474 Romeo Plank Rd., Macomb, MI 48042.

To date, LHF has translated and published Luther’s Small Catechism into 80 languages and A Child’s Garden of Bible Stories into nearly two dozen. In all, more than 880 titles in 98 languages have been printed and distributed to individuals, missionaries and churches around the world.

Dozens of projects are still awaiting funding.

“It’s incredible how far our American dollars can go overseas,” said Rev. Matthew Heise, LHF executive director. “Most books – even brightly illustrated Bible storybooks – cost only about $5 to publish. Imagine: $50 prints 10 Small Catechisms for new Lutherans in India. $100 provides 20 copies of the Kusaal language Child’s Garden of Bible Stories for a Lutheran school classroom in Ghana.

“This matching gift is a wonderful blessing from the Lord that, if fully realized, will allow LHF to publish tens of thousands books for our Lutheran brothers and sisters around the world!” he said.
